THE BAKER BEHIND THE CHAOS

the story so far ♡
Baking eggless is fun and challenging in equal measure, and honestly, that’s exactly why I love it. Every recipe becomes a little puzzle: what holds this together without eggs? What gives it lift, richness, structure? I’m still figuring it out one bake at a time, and this blog is basically my running notebook of what worked, what didn’t, and what I’d try differently.
Baking is also tied up in my Indian-Malaysian identity, part of the food and flavors I grew up with, reimagined in my own chaotic way. Recipes I’ve eaten my whole life sit right next to totally new experiments on this blog, and that mix feels true to how I actually cook.
On a practical level, baking is also my stress buster: the one place where being a little chaotic and messy is not just okay, it’s the whole point. Somewhere between measuring flour and licking the spoon, everything else gets quieter.
HOW THIS STARTED
I started this blog because I kept ending up with flour on the ceiling and stories worth telling, and nowhere to put either. What began as a way to track what actually works without eggs turned into a running log of everything that’s happened along the way: the wins, the disasters, and the requests from friends and family that turned into full custom cakes.
A few favorites
MOST AMBITIOUS BAKE
The Mystical Log Cake — fondant mushrooms, edible moss, and a lot of prayers.
MOST REQUESTED
Themed birthday cakes — see the full lineup on Custom Cakes.
WHAT’S NEXT
An actual pandan roll cake, after the cupcake test run.
Why eggless?
Mostly because it’s a challenge worth taking on, and because it means more people can eat what I bake. Expect a lot of trial, a fair amount of error, and the occasional genuine triumph.
What you’ll find here
Honest write-ups of my bakes, wins and disasters both, plus a look at the custom cakes I’ve made for other people’s birthdays and celebrations along the way.
